[Ticketed] An Excursion to Mr Bucket Chocolaterie

Did you know that the name of Mr Bucket Chocolaterie is inspired by Roald Dahl’s popular children’s book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Join us for an exploration of the PLAY + MAKE space and hop on a bus to Mr Bucket Chocolaterie at Dempsey for a chocolate workshop and learn all about the world of chocolate as well as make your very own Prawn Keropok Snaps, one of Mr Bucket’s best-selling local inspired chocolate items in celebration of Singapore’s rich food heritage! All participants will be making 2 packets worth (180g) of Prawn Keropok Snaps, receive a Mr Bucket spatula to take home and a $5 dining voucher. Make this an unforgettable chocolatey fun family outing!

Terms & Conditions:
- Please note that those with prawn and dairy allergy would not be able to participate in this workshop. While the Prawn Keropok Snaps does not contain nuts and is gluten-free, please note that the facility does use nuts and have gluten-based items in some of their chocolates.
- Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time of the programme for registration.
- This programme is held at two locations. Participants are to meet at Children’s Museum Singapore Ticketing Counter for registration before exploration of PLAY + MAKE space at the Discovery Room from 9am to 9.45am. At 9.45am, an announcement will be made to gather programme participants to hop on a bus to Mr Bucket Chocolaterie. Kindly note that cost of ticket only includes 1-way transportation.
- The Chocolate Workshop at Mr Bucket Chocolaterie is approximately 2 hours, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Participants will be split into 2 groups:
- Chocolate Education Time – Learn all about the world of chocolate
- Hands-on Activity – Make your very own 180g of Prawn Keropok Snaps (2 packets worth).
- The total duration of the programme is approximately 3 hours 30 mins, including exploration in the museum.
- All children must be accompanied by an adult.

[Free Drop-In storytelling] The Incredible Basket

Xiaoming delivers a batch of ang ku kueh with a beautiful Chinese wedding basket, then turns it into a prop for a lion dance. When the sun beats down on him, he repurposes the basket's cover as a hat! At home in a second-floor shophouse, it is attached to a rope to get a bowl of noodles from the street hawker. Join Quek Hong Shin, author and illustrator of the book, The Incredible Basket, to discover how Xiaoming uses his empty basket in many imaginative ways. This session is specially curated to complement the PLAY + MAKE travelling exhibition, an imaginative maker’s space where children explore Singapore’s rich food heritage through hands-on activities.
