The Singapore Night Festival isn’t just about lighting up the night – it’s about illuminating who we are. More than a spectacle, it’s a placemaking initiative that centres on community, and brings Singapore’s stories to life through the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, a crossroads where culture, creativity, and community intersect.
This year’s theme, Island Nights, invites us to reflect on what it means to be islanders. In the rush of city life, how can we find moments to pause, connect and rediscover ourselves? As we look inward, how do we stay open and connected to different identities from the region and the world beyond?
SNF continues to be a space for experimentation, where artists, creatives, and communities push boundaries and reimagine possibilities together. This year, we present newly commissioned works from across the region, many on show in Singapore for the first time.
As Singapore marks 60 years of diplomatic ties with various countries, SNF presents itself as a platform for creative exchange. The inaugural ALIGHT Conference will bring together regional experts in projection mapping and festival-making; a step towards building thought leadership and deeper collaboration across borders.
Because at its core, SNF isn’t just about the works that you see.
It is about the communities we create and the connections we build. At SNF 2025, I hope you’ll join us in coming together, creating new connections, and perhaps, in the process, illuminating something new about ourselves.
After all, no man is an island.
