Archives Unlocked | Singapore Tales ‘Isle’ Remember: The Spin-Offs
Were they swordfish, or were they garfish? Beneath this modern city state lie stories that have been told across generations, but there may be much more to them than meets the eye. In this talk, we explore the tales behind some of Singapore’s folklore-famous places from Bukit Merah to Pulau Brani, and take you through colourful variations that you may not have heard before.
About the Speakers
Hamizah Ibrahim is an Archivist from the Records Management Department at the National Archives of Singapore. Fascinated by the collections held at the archives; she appreciates their historical significance and aims to share their importance with a wider audience.
Nadia Amir is an Assistant Archivist from the Records Management Department at the National Archives of Singapore. She was drawn to the archives for the interesting information that historical records can surface and is committed to safeguarding them for the present and the future.
