Between Stories
Experience Between Stories, a site-specific installation performance inside CHIJMES inspired by Singapore's historical street storytelling tradition. Traditionally, street tellers paced their tales to the lifespan of a single burning incense stick. Across each 20-minute showcase, dynamic light and movement flow across the historic convent walls like smoke and memory. The narrative draws upon the heritage of CHIJMES' iconic Gate of Hope, reimagining a mother's fantastical journey in search of reconnection.
Blending local heritage with speculative imagination, the work invites audiences to gather and share in an evocative nocturnal story.
