Experience an interactive, speech-activated art installation that beautifully translates the tragic Southern Islands folklore of Minah and Linah into a modern sensory display. Rooted in traditional Singaporean mythology, the exhibit visualises the narrative of the two devoted sisters who braved a violent monsoon storm to escape pirate abductions, ultimately transforming into the iconic Sisters’ Islands, which function today as a vital marine park for marine biodiversity and coral conservation.
Visitors participate by gathering at two separate interactive coral tables. By speaking the sisters’ names, one at each station, the tables light up. When both voices ring out together, the sculpted corals emit a powerful, synchronised glow, re-imagining the legendary emergence of the islands from the deep sea.
