Stories Over(Seas): Cerita Malam
Stories Over(Seas) is a cross-cultural collaboration first presented at George Town Festival, exploring how folklore and storytelling continue to shape the cultural imagination of our island communities.
Join acclaimed storyteller Dalifah Shahril as she brings to life the legendary tale of Badang — a humble labourer who gains supernatural strength after encountering a mysterious spirit, and goes on to face mighty challengers and accomplish incredible feats, including the legendary throwing of the Singapore Stone.
Through storytelling, audience interaction and imagination, discover a tale of courage, generosity and friendship, and explore what true strength really means - is it found in the power of the body, or in the character within us?
A family-friendly storytelling experience for all ages.
