Tales of Earth and Sea

Experience a striking projection mapping display that reinterprets local folklore through an ongoing dialogue between land and water. Projected across the iconic facade of the National Museum of Singapore, it features multiple legends - where myth and history mirror each other. Rather than treating folklore as fixed past events, this work reveals legends as living processes: carried by waves, grounded in earth, and continually renewed wherever people gather and body their values. Accompanying the stunning visuals is an original soundtrack produced by Singapore’s Artusik and in collaboration with UiTM Malaysia which further enhances the work’s cross-border exchange.

Festival-goers are invited to experience the projection mapping artwork from 8pm on Friday, 21 August, as part of the Festival Launch, alongside a special appearance by the mysterious luminous Birdmen from Close-Act Theatre.
