“Textures Through Time” asks what a building remembers of its past. Transforming across different eras of local history, the CHIJMES facade breathes through the material languages of the land it stands on: the woven earth of ancient kampongs, the marble of a colonial city, half-tone print of the post-war era, flickering CRT of boom-time progress, the glitching pixel grid of modern creative technology and finally, the slow bioluminescent pulse of what might come next, built upon the foundations and stories that came before.
