Great Traditions, Little Traditions
Great Tradition, Little Traditions’ is a photography exhibition that features an international collaboration between a Singaporean and a Shanghainese visual artist. The works encapsulates the daily ritual of life in Singapore through the perspective of a foreign resident and a local, capturing the often overlooked details of the island’s urban folk-traditions that extends beyond religion. It explores the dynamic intimacy of Singapore’s system of high productivity and the coexistence of habits and structures that are counter-efficient. It aims to engage the community to rethink the value of what they may view as a meaningless norm in their day-to-day life.
