Concert Series: NAFA Orchestra
Under the direction of Lin Juan, the NAFA Orchestra presents Respighi’s Gli uccelli (The Birds), a suite that pays homage to works by earlier composers Bernardo Pasquini, Jacques de Gallot, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and Jacob van Eyck through a “mastery of past styles” resulting in a “delightful aviary” as described by writer Michael Clive.
Christopher Guzman, Professor of Piano at Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania and Artist-in-Residence at the NAFA School of Music will perform Mozart’s dark yet delightful Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466.
The programme also includes Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis.
