NAFA Installation - Sanctuary by d’Almeida Ruth Isabelle
In collaboration with NAFA, NHB presents 10 virtual artworks by the students from the Fine Arts Faculty. Drawing inspiration from the history and heritage of Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, the students have created works that feature the lesser known stories of the precinct.

To me, light represents life. The changing lights represent the changing times and the coming and passing of life. Metamorphosis is the change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one. It shows the growth and stage of transition of a person. My structure takes on the form of a cocoon, to denote metamorphosis, for people to go in and out of. This installation questions what we consider to be a second home. Who we are or who we become is affected by the homes or institutions we pass through in our lives.
