Under the Moonlight of The Singapore Calligraphy Centre
The Singapore Arts Festival 2023 (SAW), organized by the National Arts Council, is scheduled to take place across the island from 6th to 15th January 2023, and this is the 8th year that the festival has been held in Singapore. The Chinese Calligraphy Society of Singapore is the only visual arts group invited by the organizing committee to participate in the festival, which will be held at The Singapore Calligraphy Centre on January 14 (Sat) and 15 (Sun), in addition to the 40th Singapore National “Hui Chun” convention on New Year's Day as a prelude to the "Under the Moonlight of The Singapore Calligraphy Centre ". The public are welcome to visit the Centre from 1600hrs to 2000hrs.
Under the Moonlight of The Singapore Calligraphy Centre is led by Executive Committee Member of The Chinese Calligraphy Society of Singapore, Mr. Go Yang San. Calligraphers such as Tan Tiow Siong, An Chun Lai, Tan Yoong Heng, Liu Yang and Huang Mei Chiao are invited to introduce the four treasures of calligraphy and Chinese calligraphy to visitors and demonstrate the proper way of writing. Also on display were calligraphy works by established calligraphers and graduates of the Senior Citizen Calligraphy University, as well as a selection of literary treasures and calligraphy posters for the public to purchase.
