This interactive, hands-on workshop introduces participants to the joy of embroidery and weaving through traditional Kebaya making techniques. Participants will get to design a motif and try embroidery on the vintage treadle sewing machine.
Participants will also gain exclusive behind-the-scenes access as designer Nathan Yong and Heath Yeo share their creative journey, challenges and breakthroughs from their ongoing collaboration as part of NHB’s Craft x Design initiative. For this year’s edition of Craft X Design, the National Heritage Board is showcasing product designs that spotlight qualities of traditional local craftsmanship, whilst demonstrating the potential for these prototypes to be commercially produced and retailed.
