The kebaya has been successfully inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on 4 December 2024. The Peranakan Association Singapore (TPAS) is proud to have contributed to Singapore’s efforts in this multinational nomination.


Join Raymond Wong, recipient of NHB’s Stewards of Intangible Cultural Heritage Award 2023 and First Vice President of TPAS, as he delves into the story of the kebaya. Discover its origins, evolution across cultures, and its continued relevance today. The session will also feature a special showcase of vintage kebayas from Raymond’s personal collection, offering a rare opportunity to see these delicate and beautiful garments up close.
