Join storytellers Hafiz Rashid and Syazwan Majid (Ambin Ubin) for an interactive session that brings the marine creatures of Singapore’s waters to life through local folklore and traditional tales. Discover stories of reef fish, crustaceans, and other sea dwellers that have long inspired the imagination of coastal communities. Following the storytelling, participants will engage in a hands-on workshop led by Ambin Ubin to craft their own marine creatures using daun mengkuang (pandanus leaves). Using simple weaving techniques traditionally used in Southeast Asian craft, participants will transform natural leaves into artistic sea-inspired forms, highlighting the versatility of traditional materials and the environmental awareness embedded in kampong life.
