Singapore is often celebrated as a global port city -- a dazzling skyline of steel and glass built on centuries of trade. Yet behind every maritime triumph and architectural landmark lies a deeper story: the people whose labour, journeys, and everyday lives shaped the city along its waterfront.

This guided art walk takes you from the historic Singapore River through Raffles Place to Telok Ayer, uncovering the human stories behind Singapore’s rise as a port city.

Along the river, striking bronze sculptures bring to life scenes of trade, negotiation, and the vibrant exchanges that once animated these shores. As the journey continues through the financial district into Telok Ayer, murals and public artworks reveal stories of migrants arriving by sea, neighbourhood communities, and lives shaped by the constant rhythms of the harbour.

Blending storytelling, heritage, and public art, Currents & Crossings invites you to see Singapore through a different lens -- not only as a maritime powerhouse, but as a city shaped by movement, resilience, and memory.
