Stories of our Spices - A Dip into the Past
Ready for some spice? Join us on a vibrant culinary journey using your tastebuds in this sambal and chutney party! Explore a special exhibition on the spice trade and learn about how these spices came to us through the maritime trade routes of the past! Then “chaat” with us about the use of spices as well as vintage kitchen tools. We’ll end off with a tasting of various sambals and chutneys, served with free flow keropok.

Not to forget -- with every spice tasting there will also be refreshing, cold drinks to help us all cool off!
Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), established in 1996, drives Singapore’s development as a global hub port and international maritime centre. In 2026, as MPA marks its 30th anniversary, the Singapore HeritageFest 2026 spotlights Maritime Heritage. MPA has initiated collaborations with our partners to curate a series of programmes spanning vessel visits, guided tours, talks and fun lifestyle activities—bringing Singapore’s rich maritime story to life for all.
