Join our passionate guide, May Hui, on an insightful walking tour through the neighbourhood’s streets and stories, uncovering the layers of history and heritage that make Kampong Gelam what it is today.

About the Guide:
With over 40 years of experience, May Hui is a seasoned heritage trail curator and an enthusiastic storyteller. A dedicated docent and volunteer with more than 15 museums and organisations, she brings history to life through her engaging walks. You’ll often find her leading tours with My Community or SCWO, where she designed the well-loved Walking in the Footsteps of our Foremothers trail.

Whether you’re a heritage lover or simply curious, this tour promises a rich, heartfelt journey through time.

The Peranakan Association Singapore
The Peranakan Association Singapore is charged with the mission of preserving and promoting Peranakan culture. The Association and its activities are run by an elected committee of volunteers and primarily funded by donations. Amongst its outreach efforts are The Peranakan Magazine, published twice a year, and The Peranakan Voices, a choral group that engages through music and ‘live’ performances.

Ebbs & Flows is an exclusive stamp rally activation at HYPE Weekend at HOMEGROUND @ ACM Green that brings Singapore’s maritime heritage to life through hands-on, youth-designed activities. Participants move through interaction stations like knot-tying, sand art, and quizzes, collecting stamps to complete a rally card and earn keepsakes.
