Meeting point: Singapore River Cruise Fullerton Jetty

A Bump Through Time turns a familiar sightseeing route into an interactive theatre experience onboard a moving bumboat. Audiences board as passengers, and soon find themselves drawn into the working life of the river through Raihan, a cargo hand who guides them through the river’s stories, people and trades. As the performance unfolds, participants helps a customs officer identify a suspicious vessel in the sea, take part in a live trading auction, before meeting a storyteller whose tales are shaped by Teochew oral storytelling. The city’s landmarks become active backdrops making the history feel immediate, immersive and lived. Blending performance, play and place, A Bump Through Time invites audiences to experience the Singapore River beyond the usual sights; through the people, trades and small moments that once defined the river.

*Please note that this performance is performed in English.
*Please note that due to the steps involved when boarding the bumboats, this experience is not wheelchair accessible.
