From spice routes to sailors’ rations, Singapore’s port shaped not just trade, but food, survival, and exchange. This immersive maritime heritage culinary masterclass invites participants into a living heritage kitchen, where shipped ingredients and stories are unpacked, transformed, and shared through baking and storytelling.
Guided by IncuBaker’s instructors, participants explore how maritime trade influenced Singapore’s pantry — from spices and flour to preservation and fermentation — while creating reimagined maritime-inspired recipes. Each dough becomes a tactile archive, kneaded, shaped, baked, and tasted. The session includes hands-on baking, guided tastings, and curated beverage pairings for a meaningful HeritageFest experience.
Participants will bake a Dockside Spice Bun and a Seafarer’s Hardtack (a modern tea cake), and taste a Port City Financier inspired by French maritime trade. All ingredients are halal-friendly. Beverage options include a non-alcoholic pairing (default) or an optional alcoholic add-on (wine or craft beer).
