"Harbourside Heritage: A Maritime Feast & Fireside Tales" is a special dinner event at Mariners’ Corner, a restaurant with strong maritime ties. Originally located at the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore's (MPA) Maritime House, Mariners Corner served as a welcoming refuge for seafarers from around the world, offering comforting and hearty meals during their brief stays in Singapore. This event invites guests to indulge in a curated tasting menu of heritage Hainanese-Western dishes, paired with a sharing from SMOU seafarers and a fireside chat where maritime pioneers share stories, including those of the owner's grandfather, who was chef to Capt. Robert John Jack Sneddon – former Chief Pilot of the Singapore Harbour Board and former president of the Singapore Pilots’ Association in the 1950s and early 1960s.. The evening celebrates both the culinary traditions of the port and the people who helped shape its rich history, creating an unforgettable fusion of culture, cuisine, and maritime legacy.
