Saturday (2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 May): 10am - 1pm

Meeting Point: Thian Hock Keng Temple

Discover the extraordinary world of Mazu (妈祖), the legendary Goddess of the Sea, famed for her supernatural powers from a young age — calming storms, rescuing fishermen and guiding sailors safely home. After her mysterious disappearance at sea, she was deified by coastal communities who depended on the ocean for survival. Today, she remains a symbol of protection, resilience and the enduring bond between people and the sea.

Begin your journey at the Thian Hock Keng Temple, where early seafarers prayed for safe voyages. This temple is a masterpiece of traditional Hokkien architecture, featuring grand entrance gates, dazzling red-and-gold interiors adorned with intricate dragon mosaics and delicate carvings crafted by skilled artisans from Fujian Province.

Your final stop is Fu Ning, the world’s largest wooden sailing vessel and a UNESCO-documented cultural icon, now gracefully docked at Raffles Marina. This majestic ship, a floating altar, honours Mazu’s spirit and the maritime heritage that shaped Singapore’s earliest seafarers.

This isn’t just a heritage tour — it’s a journey through myths and belief, inviting you to experience Singapore as its early seafarers did and rediscover the sea’s sacred beauty.

This programme is Culture Pass eligible.

*The tour requires a minimum of 8 participants to proceed. If the minimum number is not met, you will be notified at least one day in advance, and arrangements will be made to reschedule the tour.
