Come celebrate sea camaraderie at the Sea Sports Heritage Fest 2026 organised by Sport Singapore, supported by Singapore Canoe Federation, Singapore Dragon Boat Association, Singapore Disability Sports Council, Singapore Rowing, Singapore Sailing and Republic Polytechnic.
The celebration sets sail at The Kallang with an insightful talk on sea sports history and legacy by Olympian sailor Dr Benedict Tan and sport historian Dr Nick Aplin. For wannabe paddlers and sailors, don’t miss this chance to get a thrilling workout on water with kayak and dragon boat try-outs, or experience sailing at the East Coast. Check out sea crafts from the past, try rowing on land and play water games. Join guided tours to discover the story of Kallang basin, a body of water with a rich history going back more than 400 years.

1. (Walk & Talk) Where Three Rivers Meet: Kallang Waterfront Trail & From Waves to Wins: The Singapore Sea Sports Story (Fully Subscribed)
No visit to Kallang is complete without a walk along the waterfront facing Kallang Basin, a body of water with a rich history going back at least 400 years. This trail reveals the riverine communities who once called this area home, the traditional industries that contributed lasting place names and the legacy of water sports. Registration is required for the guided walk.
Other walk-in free activities (10am to 7pm) - Enjoy viewing sea sports crafts on display, try indoor rowing (machines), or play water games at the beach volleyball court.

2. (Panel Talk Only) From Waves to Wins: The Singapore Sea Sports Story
Singapore has a long and rich sea sports heritage. Sampan rowing, kolek sailing, and sea bathing were synonymous with island life before the arrival of the British in 1819. This culture flourished with the forming of the sailing club in 1826, the launch of the enduring New Year Sea Sports annual regatta till the 1960s, and the beloved Pesta Sukan Sea Carnival tradition in the 1970s.
Sea Sports Heritage Fest 2026 sets sail with an insightful talk on sea sports legacy, followed by an exciting panel featuring Singapore’s sea sports champions.

Kayaking in Marina by Singapore Canoe Federation and Sport Singapore
Enjoy the thrill of paddling! This introductory try-out organised by the Singapore Canoe Federation (SCF), is part of the Sea Sports Heritage Fest 2026 presented by Sport Singapore.
Designed for beginners and recreational participants, this fun on-water experience with sit-on-top kayaks led by facilitators takes participants on a paddling route through Singapore’s iconic landmarks along Kallang Basin and Marina Reservoir.
Eligibility: Open to ages 5 and above. Ages 5 to 11 years old to be accompanied by an adult (above 18 years).
Single Sit-on-top (SOT 1): 12 years old and above.
Double Sit-on-top (SOT 2): 2 pax - 5 to 11 years old will require an adult (above 18 years).

Paddle Power: Dragon Boat Try-Out by Singapore Dragon Boat Association and Sport Singapore
Experience the excitement of dragon boating through this introductory try-out organised by the Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA) in partnership with Sport Singapore as part of the Sea Sports Heritage Fest 2026. Designed for beginners and recreational participants, this session offers a safe and engaging opportunity to discover one of Singapore’s most iconic water sports.
Participants will be guided by certified and experienced trainers who will introduce basic paddling techniques, boat coordination, and teamwork fundamentals before heading onto the water. No prior experience is required — just a willingness to learn, paddle, and enjoy the outdoors.
Beyond the physical activity, participants will gain insight into Singapore’s rich dragon boat heritage and how the sport has evolved from traditional cultural practice into a modern competitive and community sport. Whether you are seeking a new fitness activity or a unique water adventure, this try-out promises an energising and memorable experience on the water at Kallang.
