Step beyond the familiar and into the stories beneath your feet. The Let's Explore Heritage Trail is a 2-hour guided walk starting and ending at Temasek Shophouse, weaving through the Orchard–Dhoby Ghaut–Bras Basah district to uncover the lesser-known histories of everyday places. Participants will discover why Dhoby Ghaut is named after Indian washermen who once laundered along Stamford Canal, stand on the site of Singapore's first convict jail, and meet community members whose lives are woven into these streets. The trail is co-designed with heritage and social impact specialists, and features a community host who shares a personal story connecting these histories to present-day Singapore. Aligned with Singapore HeritageFest 2026's focus on maritime heritage and migration, this trail invites participants to become stewards of shared stories.
