The Arab Network @ Singapore (AN@S) proudly presents Samrah Dance Workshop!

The melodious beats of the music from the Arabian Gulf introduced in Singapore and the region by our Arab Peranakan Hadrami forefathers is very infectious. The music is accompanied in-sync with the traditional Samrah (Hadrami Sharah) which is a must at Arab Peranakan celebratory gatherings and weddings. The beautifully synchronised footwork of the dance is always a hit with Singapore audiences across various races when it is performed to the public by our community music and dance troupes. And NOW, on this very rare opportunity, you have a chance to learn the steps of the Samrah conducted by experienced dancers from the community. Come join us for some fun and abit of workout. You will be rewarded with the community’s very own unique drink: Kopi Halia – which is a blend of ginger, pandan and other family recipe spices.
