The Legend of Bukit Merah
Do you know how Bukit Merah got its name? A long, long time ago, on the coast of sunny island Singapura, there was a small fishing village. The villagers lived a peaceful life until one day something unusual happened. A school of angry swordfish flew out of the water and started attacking the villagers! What could be done to save the fishermen? This is the story of a young and brave boy called Nadim, who had an ingenious idea to save his family and friends.

Our storyteller at Gateway Kids Club brings this classic legend to life, maintaining Singapore's oral tradition by passing these formative stories to new generations.
