HOMEGROUND @ ACM Green

HOMEGROUND-at-ACM-Green

Singapore HeritageFest dives deep into our rich maritime legacy for its 23rd edition this year. Located at Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) Green, you’ll find HOMEGROUND - a festival experience that blends an immersive installation with engaging activities. At HOMEGROUND, you’ll see Singapore through the eyes of Pitta, a small but fearless migratory bird. Pitta symbolises the generations who crossed oceans in search of new beginnings, eventually finding home on these shores. Keep an eye out for this colourful explorer across SHF as a reminder that every journey holds a story.

Our maritime heritage stretches far beyond shipping and trade routes. It reflects a way of life unique to Singapore - from colonial times to today. As an island nation, we are never far from water. From ancient seafarers and traders to modern industries that rely on our waterways, the sea has always shaped our daily lives. Singapore’s rivers, seas and coastlines form a network that not only links us to neighbouring islands, but also connects us to one another.

HOMEGROUND @ ACM Green comes alive on Friday and Saturday evenings, celebrating the objects, sites, practices, beliefs, stories and natural features that tie us to our waters. Join us as we create new memories together!

Beyond HOMEGEROUND, the Singapore HeritageFest presents over 100 programmes happening island-wide and we invite you and your family to explore how water has shaped the place we call home. Through storytelling, hands-on activities and community-led programmes, we hope to inspire individuals, families, schools and communities to share and safeguard their own maritime stories.

So come aboard. Step closer to the water. Rediscover the currents that connect us.
